What is Parentlink?

Parentlink is a free of charge book scheme helping teachers and parents to provide effective home learning opportunities for children. Parentlink customers benefit from the same discounted prices that are available to teachers, tutors and home-educators, and as such can save up to 50% on resources ordered via the Schofield & Sims website. Each Parentlink school is issued with a unique Parentlink code that parents and other carers can use to purchase Schofield & Sims books at the discounted school price online. All Schofield & Sims titles are included in the scheme and there is no limit to the number of titles that can be bought through the scheme.

Ordering as a Parentlink customer

To order as a Parentlink customer, you must send your child to a participating Parentlink school and have been issued with the school's unique Parentlink code. You will also need to know your school's postcode. To use your Parentlink discount simply follow the four easy steps below.

1. Add the titles that you wish to purchase to your shopping basket as usual.
2. Once you are ready to complete your order, select 'Parentlink' from the drop-down menu in 'My basket'.
3. Enter your school's postcode and unique Parentlink code in the fields provided to verify your Parentlink eligibility.
4. Following verification as a Parentlink customer, the Parentlink discount will be applied to your order, and you can proceed to the checkout.

Becoming a Parentlink school

Many parents increasingly see education as their own responsibility, as well as a school's, and numerous studies have shown a direct correlation between parental involvement and a child's academic success. What's more, evidence suggests that the desire to get involved is often stronger amongst more disadvantaged groups. By providing schools with a simple mechanism through which to pass on the discount that they would normally receive when ordering Schofield & Sims books to parents, Parentlink offers schools a practical and cost-free way of helping parents to support children's education at home.

Schools wishing to participate in the scheme will receive a free Parentlink starter pack providing you with everything you need to launch Parentlink in your school, including:

• a Parentlink membership card template, featuring your school's unique Parentlink code
• a Parentlink voucher template for teachers to write specific book suggestions on
• a copy of the Parentlink logo to use in school communications
• a Parentlink notification letter template
• a Parentlink poster for you to customise and display in the school reception
• free sample copies of relevant Schofield & Sims titles to display at parents' evenings and other school events.
