lines on which the base of each letter is to rest
use of guidelines indicating the height of small letters and the vertical stroke (which is gradually phased out )
real-life copying tasks which include writing instructions/a letter/a postcard.

My 6 year old daughter needs some extra work on her handwriting; she tends to be quite lazy with her writing and has already formed her own style which is fine but not appropriate for school! I like these books because there is ample opportunity to practice forming letters. The paper is of a nice quality, the exercises aren't too challenging and most importantly my daughter enjoys doing them. I'd recommend these books for anyone else who wants to give their child a helping hand at home.

I bought this book to help my 5 year old son and daughter with their handwriting. They had started to bring home from school words they had to learn to read and write. The book is very well set out, easy to use and the children like working through it.
