Handwriting Practice Patterning

Handwriting Practice Patterning gives children practice in pre-writing patterns that prepare them for forming letters. It suits children who are learning to write and those moving into Key Stage 1 who need further practice in pencil control.

Handwriting Practice Patterning is fully compatible with the Handwriting Practice series and with the handwriting schemes most commonly used in schools.

Handwriting Practice Patterning covers:

• the key movements for basic letter formation: up and down, left to right and clockwise
• a range of shapes and patterns to draw
• pencil control, as preparation for forming the letters of the alphabet.

Children can then move on to letter formation in Handwriting Practice Book 1.
